Welcome to the Atelier d'Cheneau

Atelier: (noun) a workshop or studio, especially one used by an artist or designer.

Greetings and well met.

I am Marguerite Honoree d'Cheneau, one of over 30,000 people around the world who participate in the activities of the Society for Creative Anachronism, or SCA. We spend much of our free time exploring the arts, skills, and culture of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance through tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, classes, hands-on workshops, and more.

I attended my first Society activity in 2017, and am active in my local group (the Barony of Storvik) as well as our regional organization (the Kingdom of Atlantia). I tend to focus on the arts and organization/service aspects of the Society, particularly sewing and handicrafts, with a little theatrical bardic thrown in for good measure.

Herein lies a record of my progress within the Society. It is certainly not complete, but it may give a hint to what can be experienced within this remarkable organization. If you are curious, head over to the Society's main website and look up your local group, then reach out to their Chatelaine - that's the new member officer for those not yet familiar with SCA-speak - to learn about upcoming events and activities in your area!
